ITT Cannon Joins Prominent Industry Association to Support Next-Generation Electric Vehicle Charging

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., – ITT Inc.'s (ITT: NYSE) Cannon brand has joined Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN) e.V., the world's foremost industry association for the development of global electric vehicle charging standards.

Established by a consortium of global automotive brands that includes BMW, General Motors, Daimler, Ford and Audi, CharIN e.V. and its members are working to develop a high-performance Combined Charging System (CCS) based on open, universal standards. The CSS will incorporate AC and DC charging in a single system along with the connector, inlet and control functions, providing a single solution for all global EV charging requirements.

"Our custom-engineered interconnect concepts have helped EV-makers and hybrid mobility innovators bring powerful new products to their customers over the last two decades," said Gary Ashurst, vice president and general manager, transportation and industrial for ITT Cannon. "Our membership in CharIN connects us with some of the biggest players in the industry to bring our charging interface and vehicle connector expertise to bear in influencing global standards."

Backed by a 100-year legacy of breakthrough invention and connector design, ITT Cannon brings more than two decades of EV knowledge to support CharIN's mission and vision for the future of transportation. The company will contribute the sophisticated connector mating capabilities and custom engineering acumen essential to developing high-performance charging solutions for the EV market.
